Award-winning filmmakers stop by Tanka headquarters
Film producer Haskell Wexler recently visited the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, home of our headquarters, along with journalist and filmmaker Kevin McKiernan.

The team is shooting a sequel to Kevin's 1990 Frontline documentary The Spirit of Crazy Horse.

They interviewed Tanka CEO Karlene Hunter and me to discuss changes that have occurred on the reservation since the 1973 Wounded Knee occupation. They are also taking a wide look at how the Wounded Knee occupation impacted Native American communities and policies across the country.
