There is never a dull moment in the small town of Kyle, SD, where our headquarters is located.

A fire started today in a field down the way from the Tanka office and just meters away from a propane plant.

Sales and customer care rep Alyssa Janis investigates with a pair of binoculars. She said she keeps a pair in her car at all times.

No word yet on what started the fire. Several community members stopped their cars and got out to help put out the blaze with whatever they had on hand along with the local volunteer fire department. No one was injured. Nicole Pourier-Shangreaux, a resident of Kyle, expressed her appreciation of the community support.

"I want to say, 'thank you' to every person that stopped and helped out with the fire. As I was standing there I said, 'Wow, look at what a strong caring community we have here in Kyle.'"
