Golden eagle spreads wings over Washington state
Thanks to Grandpaw Richard for sending us this photo he took of a golden eagle in flight. The golden eagle can maintain territories that may be as large as 155 square kilometres (60 square miles). They are found throughout the Northern Hemisphere and is common in western North America. It is one of the largest birds of prey in North America; only the Bald Eagle and California Condor get larger, according to allaboutbirds.org.
