The Oglala Lakota Nation Wacipi (Pow Wow) is the biggest event of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, the location of our headquarters.
People from all over the US come out to experience the pow wow and related activities in celebration of the event. Now in its 28th year, Oglala Lakota Nation wrapped up on Aug. 4. Peter Hill, program director at Lakota Immersion Childcare, attended the pow wow with his family and let us share a few of his photos as well as pics from other Oglala Lakota Nation events.
For more about the Immersion program, visit lakotalearners.com and their Facebook page.

Riders participate in the Crazy Horse Ride which isn't part of the Oglala Lakota Nation Wacipi weekend, but we thought Peter took a great shot.
This ride takes place in June.
