Red Cloud Indian School Health Class conducts interactive interview with Tanka team

October 22, 2013

Tanka CEO Karlene Hunter speaks on Skype with Red Cloud students.
This week we tried something new with the health class at Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, SD.

We set up our computers and Skype called Garrett Waters' class and did a few presentations for the students. In this line of work we Skype call each other and do business over the phone. When we did our presentation from our office, it was kind of fun.

Karlene Hunter, CEO, started the Skype call and let the students know the back story of the Tanka Bar and was available to answer questions at the end. It was great to have her as the host. She made sure the kids had questions -- if not, she said she was going to fax them over a quiz!

Eugene Stover, inside sales manager, also participated. He told the class what happens day-to-day atTanka Bar like the calls he makes to his customers to make sure they have product. He also told them what kind of customers he takes care of like the small business owners or the consumers who have a question about ingredients.

I talked to the students about the wonderful world of social media and marketing. I told them about the social networks we use like Myspace, Twitter and Facebook and how we use them as a way for free marketing. I also write stories and send samples to stores throughout the United States.

Thanks, Mr. Waters, for letting us speak with your class and thank you to the students for not giving us any difficult questions! We here at the Tanka Bar hope we aided in giving more education on healthy lifestyles and positive choices in your young lives.
