The Ozanam Scholars Program is a group of undergraduate students who are part of a special program at the University dedicated to scholarship, service and social justice. They work in part with an entrepreneur class at Red Cloud Indian School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Garrett. P. Brenton Ph. D. Proffessor of Anthropology Director, Center for Global Development and Faculty Advisor of the Ozanam Scholars Program asked if he could bring a small group of students by our headquarters to learn about the Tanka Bar. To help with the students R. Mitch Casselman, Ph.D. Associate Dean, Learning & Innovation also came along for the journey.
Not all of the students were from the United States -- some of them were from two other countries. I gave them a tour of the building and they had a great time taking pictures for us. Our president, Mark Tilsen, also talked with the students and answered their questions.
I hope they had a wonderful experience and enjoyed their time here on our reservation.
