Tanka Bar receives a 'Wild Foods' thank you from West Virginia
We always appreciate thoughtful letters of thanks and kind words from all over the US. The above 'thank you' note recently came from Edelene Wood and Loretta Garman of the North Bend State Park Nature Wonder Wild Foods Weekend in Cairo, WV.

Ms. Wood founded the event, which is the longest running annual wild food event in North America and gives spectators a chance to learn about finding, processing and enjoying edible wild food. The weekend also pays tribute to famed outdoorsman and wild foods auther, Euell Gibbons, who passed away in 1975.

"We especially appreciated the Tanka Bites that the Native American Natural Foods donated for our social hour tasting of wild foods," Ms. Garman wrote. "Thanks for supporting our cause -- your Tanka Bites were enjoyed by about 100 people."

Pictured are Edelene Wood, standing on the chair toasting the 100th anniversary of Euell Gibbons' birth and the lower picture shows Loretta Gartman; John Kallas, speaker and Edelene Wood.
