Tanka family member fighting Carleton Complex fire celebrates birthday today
Jacey Mesteth, our production manager Tonya Hunter's son, is currently firefighting with South Dakota's Bear Mountain Hand Crew in Central Washington at the Carleton Complex wildfire. The fire has burned over 300,000 acres and is the largest in Washington history, according to the Seattle Times. It has been reported to have started as four smaller fires sparked by lightning July 14, 2014.

In the above photo, Jacey is pictured on the right for USA Today! As for the future, Jacey graduates from Haskell Indian Nations University in December with his bachelors in American Indian studies with an emphasis in Environmental Justice. We are proud of you, Jacey! And happy birthday!
