Tanka Bar is featured in our case titled "American Indian Foods in the Global Pantry" located right outside of our Zagat-rated Mitsitam Native Foods Cafe at the National Museum of the American Indian which is located at the Smithsonian Institution.
The case features a variety of indigenous foods that have had a global impact sustaining populations worldwide as they have nourished Native families for millennia. Tanka Bar is located in our meat and seafood section among other Native meat products that include clam, cod, lobster, crab, salmon, turkey and bison.
The additional two cases feature "Family Meals and Feasting" as well as "Preparing and Storing Food" and provide a glimpse of food-related items such as bone ladles and other food containers made of ceramics. These cases will be on view for the foreseeable future.

Tanka Fund’s goal is to convert 1,000,000 acres of virgin prairie to regenerative agriculture built around a buffalo based economy. Join us in restoring health and prosperity to Native communities.
